Hi everyone,
Some of you know me and some of you don’t. I've been a loyal haneng.com contributor for many years now, and with thanks to everyone, the haneng.com forum community has been a great crowd to work and chat with.
We have all gained a lot of knowledge from each other, and from this a lot of us have made some great websites.
Well, I have developed a website six years ago called Promotion City - http://www.PromotionCity.co.uk , my website is extremely popular in the ‘urban’ scene in the UK, and as a result of this it has officially been nominated and put up for an award at one of the biggest urban scene awards in the UK called the UMA's - The Urban Music Awards. This is an annual award ceremony takes place in the UK (London), USA (New York), France (Paris) and Asia.
I was over the moon when I was told that my business/website has been nominated for the UMA's for the category of "BEST WEBSITE 2005" - how cool.
I would like to say thank you to everyone who has got me this far, and I would appreciate it if you would show your support by voting for my website for this category. You need to go to http://www.UrbanMusicAwards.net and click on VOTE NOW, then just vote for www.PromotionCity.co.uk in the Best Website Category. Well, I voted for you but I'm slightly worried. I might be getting on a bit but does only knowing Tim Westwood, Jamelia and Lemarr make me very sad? I'd not heard of anyone else!

Just a note about your site:
1) You should check your front page with Firefox, not all items are shown correctly.
2) I know you need money, but pop ups are just plain bad business. It just annoys people and they won't come back. Reminds me of the employees of Sharman networks that wouldn't install their own flagship software Kazaa on their own computers since it was full of adware.

Thank you katy8439, the UMA's is very slightly 'undergorund' therfore the likes of Tim Westwood, Lemar and Jamila are all 'above ground'. The UMA's show that they recognise and support UK talant no matter how big or small. Dont worry, your not 'getting on'! lol
Thanks haneng, a beer will be yours no problem if I win! :D - secondally, I appriciate your comments dearly. If I find more time, I would definatley take a look at making the site firefox friendly, time is not permitting at the moment. With regards to the ads, I plan to take them off very soon, and hopefully put inplace a 'on-off' paid membership (something like £5 which is around $2 for a years membership on the site) - im not sure yet though as it will require some serious thinking about the implications.

PS. Even though the catagory is entitled 'Best Website', I dont think they're judging the site for its design and coding etc, but more like its contents and consistency etc.

I used to go clubbing etc alot, being a member of various forums and sites, you get to hear about sites likes yours :)
Like with Paco's Drivers, I had been on that site loads of times before I realised it was Paco's lol

Paco is a genius, he and I have worked together on a few projects in the past. its weird though, cause the amount of times that i am at work looking for drivers, and forget about his website (oops, sorry). But im instantly reminded once ive done a google search for the driver, paco comes top almost every time! How dare i forget eh?

Can you beleive it! I done it! I have a beautiful 2ft chrome UMA award on my fireplace now, and it looks so good!

- I made it to nominations in 2005 UMA's, and then won the category (Best Website 2005)!!!
- I didnt event get nominated in 2006 at the UMA's, but I did actually nominated for the same award (Best Website 2006) by a different award ceremony (Musik4U Awards), although I didnt win that year :(
- So, its approaching that time again, but i think i may have left it a bit late to cry for votes of support, but its the UMA awards of 2008 and the open votes are active... we've already been nominated, so thats stage 1 done, now its time to get those votes. Thank you to everyone who showed there support. Unfortunatley I didnt win this year, but being nominated for the Best Website category alongside MySpace.com is an acheivement in itself. Nevertheless Myspace won the award.
Oh well.
